Travelling from the South M6 motorway exit 40 to Ireby is 21 miles.  Take M6 exit 40 onto the A66 towards Keswick then follow A591 towards Bassenthwaite, as you approach the Castle Inn Hotel Ireby is signposted to the right and is just over 4 miles from this point. From Carlisle and the North to Ireby is 20 miles. Take the A595 west towards Cockermouth, turn left at Mealsgate, Ireby is 3 miles from this point.
From the West and Cockermouth there are several options but for those unfamiliar with the area it's best to take the A595 north to Mealsgate and turn right. Do not take the Torpenhow road it is very narrow and best avoided.

Car parking: Please do not park on the main street or in the village square. Use the official festival car park field, we do not charge for parking. We operate a one way system in and out of the field please follow the Steward's directions to ensure optimum use of parking space. 5mph max speed please.

Camping - Toilets - Pets - BBQs: Fresh water and portaloos are situated in the camp field. Toilets are also situated in the Globe Hall, the Lion pub, and the W.I Hall. There is no toilet facility at St James church. On the camp field portable BBQs are allowed but not open fires. If you are camping, cars may be parked next to your tent, please be sure to display your camping pass in your windscreen. Ireby is a farming community and at the time of the festival we have many new lambs and calves therefore only guide assistance animals can be allowed onto the camp field and admitted to the festival venues.

Access for the disabled: The Old Chancel is not accessible to people who are wheelchair bound. All other music venues are accessible to people in wheelchairs but some assistance may be required to access the church and the main stage marquee. Our stewards will gladly help if required. If you would like additional assistance or provision please contact us in advance and we will do all we can to make your stay enjoyable.

Shops: Fresh milk, eggs and veg, can be bought at Alan Young's farm on the main street. The nearest grocery store and post office is in Caldbeck (6 miles). You can also find banks, shops and a post office in Wigton (7 miles) Keswick (13 miles) Cockermouth (12 miles. At the festival we have a range of food catering concessions situated near the main stage and in the village square, these will be open from 4pm on Friday. If you fancy homemade teas and cakes and soup these are available from the W.I.Hall on Saturday afternoon. The Lion Pub also offers reasonably priced bar food.

Rubbish disposal:
Please do not leave loose rubbish in the camp fields.  To ensure the safety of farm animals place empty bottles and bottle tops, cans, plastic containers, cigarette butts and all other rubbish in the designated bins.
Every venue has easily accessible rubbish bins, please use these, don't leave rubbish on the floor.
Food Outlet Proprietors...are responsibility for disposing of all rubbish generated in the preparation stages of their catering provision and must ensure it is taken with them when they leave.

Venues: The Lion public house, the Globe Hall the Women's Institute Hall and the school are all situated in the village square area. From here, St James church is at the opposite end of the village about a 7 minute walk. The Skiddaw main stage is a 4 minute walk from the car park and about 12 minutes from the village square and the church. All music venues are heated except Ireby 12th Century Chancel. For the concert at the Old Chancel one of our Stewards will lead a 1 mile conducted walk to this venue which takes about 20 minutes.
Seating: Some venues may have part seating and part standing. The Skiddaw View main stage is predominantly seated.
